Objective

For more than 20 years, the share of automated trading continues to grow, and API users represent the largest, most valuable faction of clientele. Whether an individual or institutional trader, new brokerage customers need to be able to start testing strategies and trading with a new broker within a matter of days

FintechOps’ goal was to find the best way to empower newcomers with anything they might need to start trading using the API. Proactive support to existing API customers when new versions were released would also be necessary. 

Solution

At their foundation, every public API that FintechOps develops are designed with ease of use in mind. They have a business-oriented structure and are built from the viewpoint of a trader: what tasks they face and how to use the API to address them.

On top of that, we established a publicly available support portal that not only has extensive API documentation with lots and lots of API usage examples – the ones that show how real-live tasks can be tackled with the API. But also a forum where users can ask questions and either peers or API developers will answer those in a matter of hours.

This community is mutually beneficial, as it also helps us keep our fingers on the pulse of user needs—we don’t have to guess what improvements are necessary. And before a new API version is released, we have available to us a community of active users who can act as beta testers.
